'65 TI amp screws to rad support

The '65 (and '64, I believe) mount the transistor ignition amplifier on the forward face of the rad support (driver side if car also has A/C). The '65 AIM (5th ed.) says it is held in place with "three blunt-end, thread-cutting hex head fasteners".

Would like to see ORIGINAL screws to compare with the photos of these new long screws.

The short one shown holds the horn relay to the rad support, and has the thread-cutting feature The other new longer ones shown are included in the terminal envelope package for the transistorized voltage regulator. [Also required if T.I. and A/C]. Both screws have exactly the same thread spacing and depth.

I decided to use the longer screw as you show, I'll keep looking for any description of that screw, 9419245

Wayne, I dug mine out of the plastic baggies: The horn relay screw is 5/8" overall, recessed head, no logo, zinc/cad, used an uncaptured star washer; what I BELEIVE to be the originals for the regulator are recessed head with an expanded bottom (ala flat washer) anchor logo, zinc/cad & is 1 1/8" overall; I also have 2 other varieties that I believe came with 1116368 regulators - the first is same style head, "C", logo, zinc/cad and 1 3/16" overall; the 2nd is same style head, "C" logo, GOLD zinc/cad/? and 1 7/16" long. Hope this helps rather than hinders.

        9419245 replaced by 9422176 (5-67) then replaced by 11502875 (12-81) Found a number of references to the 9422176 as being 1/4 - 14 x 7/8
9419245 was also used in 64 Corvair
The later number, 9422176, is called out in group 8.977 for the TI Amp which requires 3.

Bill -- my 3 new screws (out of the TI volt reg box) are [caliper] 1.19" OL, 0.24" OD, and 13.25 threads/inch (based on a 12 thread count). Subtracting head thickness, remaining length to blunt end is 0.97".

I conclude that Loren, Alan and you are talking about the same fastener, albeit perhaps different suppliers or timeframes.

TI bottom plates: I have 3 amps but none original to either of my cars. I've been staring at the 3 mount holes in the rad support for 35 and 30 years, respectively, (pics below) and thought it was time to at least mount an amp, if not (horror) get the TI systems working ! My newest amp has the 2nd design flat base plate and is that gold-ish finish. Inkstamp seems to read 9_H_13. My oldest is off an early 1964 Pontiac, a "1115005", (based on the date stamp of the TI volt reg, L3). Its plate is the darkest, but not black-ish. The other plate's color is between the two.
