Re: Seat Tags
Here's mine, from the seat BOTTOMS off '65 VIN 23564; black vinyl interior. Both seat tags are SG-3866415-4, and both seats have a 2nd tag folded with the first 7-19 (probably 19th July).
I've looked at the seat BACKS off this car, or maybe my '65 coupe. Wrote the numbers down but can't locate.- Top

Re: Seat Tags
Those tags are all from the outside suppliers that built the seats and shipped them to St. Louis. The seat frames and springs came from one supplier, the covers came from Findlay Industiries, and a third supplier assembled the seats, racked them, and sent them to St. Louis, ready to install. They were literally the last parts installed on the car, at the end of the Final Trim Line, just prior to the shipping gate.- Top

Re: Seat Tags
The "Hard Trim Line" carried the body (now locked in physical sequence) from the end of the Paint Shop to the point of Body Drop, where it met the Chassis and proceeded down the Final Line to Roll Test. After Roll Test, Water Test, Mechanical Repair, and Final Paint Repair, the car went on the Final Trim Line, where all of the interior hard and soft trim was installed (door trim panels, carpets, quarter trim panels, shift console, park brake console, radio side panels, seat belts, and seats (the last parts installed in the car). Photos below show the Hard Trim Line (at A.O. Smith) and the end of the Final Trim Line at St. Louis, which was the shipping gate.
