1963 grand sport #004 random question

Doing some research on 63' grand sport #004 and came across one of the oddities of the restoration of the car. Enclosed pic shows a 90% elbow fitting coming out of exterior roof next to cb antenna mount......what is its purpose?
    Thanks all

Don't think so. At that time, no air jacks or air shocks. ......

          ...probably a fuel tank vent.

Could be, duke. Seems odd that routing vapors up through rear of cabin rather than drop down would be problematic . Ps GS coupe with center red stripe is #4

The car is equipped with a CB, hense the copper grounding tape stuck to roof/rear glass. Unless threaded fitting has a something to do with the CB. (Where's Zora when you need em')

They screw the antenna onto those threads. If you look up the car on google there are pics of it with the antenna attached.

If you look at my first post, clearly you can see straight thread on brace with wire running down to center console. That's cb antenna mount. My question was for 90% threaded elbow in front of antenna mount with opening facing fwd. Thanks

Ah, yes. I don't know what the items function is that attaches to it except that it is disc shaped. I know they have a camera mounted on the windshield. Its an odd looking device.

The forward-facing 90* red AN fitting appears to me to be the positive vent for the fuel tank - it's shown in all of the photos below from Monterey 2013 and Bloomington Gold 2013, along with the GoPro camera mounts, CB antennas, and GPS disc.

Could be I suppose, just seems odd that a vent would be directed forward into air stream. I have gone over several photos of trunk area without spare to see if I can see a line running from back of tank up and fwd,..........

Previous owner of gran sport #003 says it was a positive pressure vent for gas tank as John stated
