    67 AC conversion

While I have the engine out of my car, I have decided to restore the AC. The system had not been opened until I removed the engine six weeks ago. However, the AC has not worked for the last 30 years and there was no R12 freon left in it. The hoses were so hard they no longer sealed to the aluminum pipes! So, I have ordered new replacement hoses and an upgrade seal kit to use 134a refrigerant. I am being encouraged to upgrade the POA valve to the clutch cycling style. Has anyone done this to their cars? What do the judges have to say about it?

    Re: 67 AC conversion

Doesn't really answer your question but when I did R134a conversion to a 67 Coupe DeVille I used to have I adjusted the POA valve per some instructions I found online and it seemed to work well. I don't know how well the adjustment compares to the clutch cycling conversion performance wise but the adjustment would be completely non-detectable for judging.
