Gerry, Sorry for your problems on the way home. I enjoyed your stories of NY and shared mine. My wife Gloria still thinks you have a terrific voice.

This is why I will never put another Coker tire on my cars - every one of them has had the tread separate or cracked sidewalls. The tires were not more than a year old but the 67 got driven a lot and those tires just don't seem to be up to the task of being driven a lot.

        Re: Denver 2015 Judging Floor

Dumb question: Where does NCRS publish attendance and judging results for a meet?

And does NCRS track participation by model year or at least by JG category? It would be interesting to understand the trends over the years. For example, is the number of C4s increasing? What's the trend with overall participation at Chapter, Regional, National events?

          Mark,

The judging results for regional and national meets are shown in the Restorer magazine. Attendance figures could be provided by looking at past records of registered members at the different events. Our national officers would have the best access to historical numbers and trends for the participants and judging results / trends for national meets and the individual officers of the hosting chapters would be the source for regional and chapter meets.

Mark, you need to get hold of the Summer 2014 Restorer. Vinnie out did himself in that 40th Anniversary issue. It has tons of stats and history of NCRS national meets, chapters, regionals, attendance, cars judged, etc. The most interesting section to me was pages 18-19. This shows the number of awards, by car year for Top Flight, SF, TF, PV, Duntov, McLellan, Hill,Crossed Flags, Bowtie stars, etc. Very informative. For instance, only 1 1980 and 1 1981 Corvette has ever won the 5 Star Bowtie, and only 3 1984 and 2 1985 Corvettes have ever won the McLellan. Contrast that to 168 Duntov Awards for 1967 Corvettes, and 14 5 star Bowties for '67s. Easy to see in that table what is popular and what isn't in NCRS judging.

Dang. I already tossed that issue. Is it available electronically, or do I have to buy a $50 DVD?

EDIT: The good news is I learned how to access Restorer issues on the website.

But I looked at the July/August 2014 issue and didn't see the article you mention. Can you clarify which issue you mean by Summer 2104?

Not that I know of, but maybe you can find a fellow Texas Chapter member to loan it to you.

I looked at the July/August 2014 issue on-line (past issues are posted on the website), but didn't see the article you mentioned.

Did you find the "Restorer"Magazine with a bright red cover that says 40th Anniversary edition and Summer 2014 on the bottom? Maybe you only saw Driveline online on the website.

You're right- I'm looking at Driveline online.

So Driveline is on the website, but Restorer isn't?

Interesting. If I had to pick one of the two publications to have past issues available on-line, I'd pick Restorer. Driveline is mostly ads for parts, which has limited value in archives.

Mark- An electronic version of the Driveline makes searching for parts/VIN's/info much easier. Not all ads are repeated, so the older issues may house important data. As for the Restorer, I believe those are resold in a DVD set.
