    1967 Hazard Flasher

    Some background:

All lights work, brake, driving and turn signals which blink at an appropriate rate.
The switch for the flasher works fine, ON when it should and Off when it should.

The original hazard flasher does not operate correctly. It will flash for a second or so at a rate of maybe 5 per second.
Is it the flasher itself? If it is, where to get the correct one.

Was the hazard flasher a mechanical switch of some sort, could the be rebuildable? Or just get the replacement and plug it in and get over it.

    Don,
the flasher is nothing more than a bi-metal strip under the cover.
The flashing occurs when the strip heats and loses contact, then cools and makes contact.
If you're worried about your dated cover you can be R&R to the new flasher.

Most likely, yes. As far as getting a another correct one, the flashers are more era specific than corvette specific so they can be found in junkyards in all type of common era GM cars.

        Re: 1967 Hazard Flasher

Don - The '67s came with either a Signal-Stat 175 or Tung-Sol 552 hazard flasher. The original configuration of the SS 175 would have had a green metal cover that was embossed on the top & was used throughout the Production year. The configuration of the information on the TS 552 natural metal cover changed during the Production year. E/M covers has black silk-screened info on the side of the cover & the later configuration was embossed on the top of the cover. The new revision (that is to be coming out) of the '67 NCRS TIM&JG should have pictures of the various hazard flashers. Pete
