    67 radio rebuild help

    Hey guys ,
i have two buddies who need their 67 radios restored. Jerry isn't taking any more radios for a bit from my understanding, so who else would you guys recommend? Gotta be to NCRS specs. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always. Ara

You could check KandB Corvette Products in Alpharetta, Georgia. They didn't do my work, Jerry repaired my radio. However ,when I was checking around for mine Corvette Central said they sent their radios to them. Haven't heard anything about them though. good luck

I have heard about K&B in the past --- mostly good things ---

and----Since I live about 30-40 minutes from Alpharetta I am going to drop my 67 radio off at K&B tomorrow.

I will report back on the results...

      Regards
      Bill

        Great Bill,
Jerry's the best, but since he's taking a break it will be great to know how things work out with K&B for those who may need radio repairs in the future.

              Ara,
i don't think you will find anyone better than Charles Siegfried in California. He's done several for me and provided great quality and service.

                Hi Ara,
We have a great radio man here in Toronto Canada... he has been doing classic car radios for 40 years and is truly the best... He did mine last year and its perfecto... His name is Paul's auto radio and is worth the shipping to Canada... Keep in mind you folks are 30% in favor with your dollar... Just a thought

                  Ara,

Try Steve Hack at Eastern Corvettes. He does outstanding work.

                  Best,
                  Dave

                      Re: 67 radio rebuild help

                      HI:

As promised I am reporting back on my radio rebuild experience with K&B Special Products in Alpharetta, GA.

I live about an hour away from Kens shop and I called and made arrangements to drop off my 67 radio. I dropped it off last Wednesday and picked it up this morning. I spent about 20 minutes re-installing it and it works flawlessly. It took about a week to repair. The radio did not need any cosmetics (see the photo) - just some clean up and a power supply and minor adjustments. It now plays loud and clear with no static or scratching.

The work was done quickly and the radio works flawlessly! I spent a few minutes talking to Ken Anderson the owner -- a really good guy. They do mostly wholesale work (as indicated in other posts) so if you want to use them call ahead and make arrangements.

The results were very good..... here is a link to their web-site.

Just one more really good source for a very important piece of equipment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

                      Regards
                      Bill
