    '67 seat tracks

Time to address the seat tracks on my car. The 5th edition TIM&JG states "the seat tracks are plated with a dark gray oxide". What is the best way to reproduce this result? I will, also, be cutting appropriate slits in the carpeting while the seats are out. Thanks.

first, I removed as little of the original finish as possible. The parts of the track that I had to bead blast, I refinished using ordinary Cast Blast paint. it really matched very well.

Thanks, Patrick. What brand of Cast Blast paint are you using to attain the dark gray oxide look? The Cast Blast that I have looks much lighter.

I sent my dads 67 tracks to Old School Plating in De. They knew the correct finish. They turned out great. And passed judging at a regional

Thanks, Keith. I was looking for a DIY on this project, if reasonably possible. Appreciate your response and lead.

It wasn't all that expensive to get it done. But we also had a few other small parts to get done as well. They are great people to deal with. If you play with the cast blast paint and other colors of paint of varying amounts of coverage I can see getting something very close.
