Didn't Yanko just order SS396 cars and just pull the engine and swap in over the counter L-72's.

That's what does not make economic sense. Why would a dealer buy a car plus and extra engine plus shop labor to create a 427 Camaro that he could have just ordered already assembled? What are the pad stampings on a Yenko Camaro emgine? Is it a CE code for a short block or a MD or LS code for a 69 427/425 Impala (crate engine)or an MN code for a COPO Camaro?

how much paperwork and hasel was it to go though COPO. Would it have been easier to order a car and do the swap and sell the engine to anther customer then to go though a bunch of paperwork. And did they do any work to the 427 before they sold them
