Forget the old style "trickle" chargers. Use a BatteryMinder. Leave it on continuously (but remember to take it off when you drive the car).
Joe: I usually don't throw anything away if it works even though it is old. I do use the BatteryMinder on other toys. BTW Joe I still have
a "Rotory Phone" hooked up and used in my basement!! Works Fine. Larry

...and I still have a "trickle charger". However, I have not used it since I got BatteryMinders and I have no plans to use it for charging batteries in the future. It does provide a nice 12 volt source if I need to operate or test some 12 volt item.

Battery MINDers don't work below 10.X volts, and if you have a battery that discharged for one reason or another the standard charger is very, very useful. I've "rescued" more than one battery using a standard charger to get a battery to 13+ volts and then swapping to the Battery MINDer. Strange things happen to batteries during the winter, especially in newer cars.

I've found the BatteryMinder to be much better than a BatteryTender.
          Hi Joe,
Well I haven't heard back from Deltran yet, they received it on Monday and I expect it to be replaced. If I have to buy another one I will look at the BatteryMinder. Thanks

Oh, yes. I do have and use a standard battery charger (Schumacher). As you mention, the BatteryMinder is not for charging a discharged battery. It's the "trickle charger" that's fallen into retirement here.
