1969 Antenna Mounting Hardware

I am doing a frame off on a 1969 convertible and am getting together miscellaneous small parts for chrome plating. On the mounting for the antenna the 2 bezels that hold the antenna are chrome plated. The collar with the 2 flats seems to be stainless steel and was not plated. My questions is: Is the collar that slips over the antenna and screws down to hold the antenna in place supposed to be plated or is the stainless steel not an original part.

The nut which retains the antenna mast is stainless steel.
