    Archives Manager (?)

I had a question about whether or not something I have had already been included in the Archives, so I went to the last Restorer and found no listing. In pursuing it further, I found that in the Fall 2014 Restorer, there was a title listed, but no person.
I knew that I had seen Bill Sangrey at the NCRS booth at B-J in January 2015 volunteering his time, so I knew he was alive. Does a mere member dare ask what heinous crime Mr. Sangrey committed? Or if he resigned, why? It's apparently coming on to close to a year ago that something happened - whatever happened to "transparency"?

        Loren,
Bill Sangrey contacted Dick Capello a while back to let him know that he wanted to step down as Archives Director, which is why his name and contact info were taken off the inside front cover of the Restorer. Since then, Bill has worked with us to try to identify a successor, so far unsuccessfully. Bill has also graciously continued his work to complete the inventory of the Archive.

As you doubtless know, the NCRS archives are located at the AACA library in Carlisle, PA, with a copy at the National Corvette Museum. Ideally we would like to find someone who lives in or near Carlisle to take on Bill's duties, but so far the folks we've approached have declined the opportunity. We have asked the Regional Directors in that area to reach out to their Chapters to solicit a volunteer.

If you have a specific question for Bill I am sure he would be happy to answer it.

Mike, it no longer matters, because even if the Archives don't have it, they wouldn't get it now. But another question - does Moderator Don report directly to you whenever he moves a question to the curiously named "Help" section? And then when you tell him to "put it back", what marvelous power does he possess that he gets to "rewrite" his response? Is he one of the unnamed "employees" that receives part of the unaccounted for
          170K+ in 2012 and 2013?

I too am interested to learn more about the modestry. I had been told by Mod Don that Gary Chestnut was next in command to him and Gary Chestnut informs that next in line to him with respect to voicing concerns is your district rep.

There is great mystery and intrigue surrounding the movement and deletion of posts. When I requested that a copy of a post, authored then removed by Mod Don, be forwarded to my area rep, Mod Don said it could be restored by Mr. Chestnut. However Admin Chestnut appeared to not be able to do that. I didn't get an explanation as to why that couldn't happen. It appears the admin has limited ability to respond to member's correspondence. I never got a reply.

It's good to know how the member's facilities operate.

              Loren,
I am puzzled by your attitude toward the NCRS Archive. If you have something that you felt worthy of donating, what has changed that you would now not donate it?

As to Don, he is not an employee. He is a volunteer who donates countless hours of his own time as a moderator. He does not report to me but rather works as part of the NCRS IT team. I became aware of this post when you copied me and a host of others on your rather rude email to Don late last night. I went and found the thread in the Help section and tried to respond to your question about the status of the Archive Director position. I asked Don to move the thread back so that others could see the answer to your question. However, it seems clear from this post that you weren't really interested in that information, but rather in further attacking Don. I have advised you previously and I will advise you again, refrain from personal attacks on the TDB or you will lose your privileges.

I've looked for my "personal attacks on the TDB" that are in question and it doesn't seem to be "on the TDB" - perhaps it's been removed? Or
there is a thing called e-mail.....

                    Mike:
You answered one of my three questions, ie moderator Don's status as an employee. You did NOT answer WHY my post was removed to the so-called "Help" section in the first place. CLEARLY, you thought it was in error as you ordered it replaced. Could Don not check the last issue of the Restorer to see that "Activities Manager" was no longer listed, as stated? Too much work, I guess. You won't even TOUCH the issue of why Don gets to REWRITE his response upon republication. Orwell was apparently right - some pigs are more equal than others.
You and your minions do this in response to a question about an apparently missing position. You do not provide advance copies of Board agendas and topics; you do not request membership input on issues; surely the minutes of the March Board meeting should be available to the members before the next Board meeting on July 24, but they're not and neither is an agenda; you run a not-for-profit that takes in 540K
in Dues, doesn't GIVE ANYTHING away and you LOSE $$$, so that you ask/get a $154,000 dues increase so that you can lose more $$ and you
want to know why I won't donate it to the Archives.
The item in question is an Engineering Committee letter from the '80s dealing with the question of when the decision was made to produce the
Corvette. I remember when the Board first donated $$ for the creation of the NCM, which included a Library/Archive in the initial plans. I believe
the NCM will be able to accept it.

I'm puzzled by this question... doesn't EVERYONE have this power? In the past, I have edited several of my posts... be it a spealing korection, or simply adding something I forgot. According to the FAQ section, I believe there is a time limit associated with this feature. For details: CLICK HERE

To Whom It May Concern: I don't know you and don't care what your agenda may be. Although you may have some valid points, a senseless diatribe like this usually make for quick dismissals. In addition, I honestly can't comprehend why a person would initially post said conversation to the HELP section. Since it does NOT qualify under the topic synopsis, it therefore easily merits removal. What else will be posted there... questions about HE laundry detergent? Now that all THREE questions in concern appear to have been answered, this thread should be considered for CLOSURE.

In my opinion, additional questions regarding the administration of this board are also totally off base... and quite frankly, offensive to this bystander. Why can't they be addressed via personal email with the proper representatives? If they fail to respond or assist to your liking... run for their office, push them out, and do the job yourself. Unfortunately for you, this is not a forum for moving your agenda.

Furthermore, I'm appalled by the terse verbiage displayed here... what ever happened to RESPECT (singing - Find Out What It Means To Me). Let me try this approach... Colonel Mustard, with the lead pipe, in the kitchen. Get the CLUE???

Personally, I've been battling an unknown/mystery illness for the past five years and I'm nowhere as bitter as you folks. Relax... calm down... take a pill... have some FUN for once in your life. There is no need for the BS meter to be perpetually pegged by so called adults.
