I am looking for a method to restore my aluminum 3461S carb finish. I would like to bring it back to original finish or at least as close as possible. I also am looking for a complete, exploded view of the carb and its components with part numbers if available.

Re: 63 340 hp
Thank you Stu, but I was looking for the process. I appreciate the information. But I would like to do the restoration myself if I can get the needed data.

Re: 63 340 hp
Richard;
You have to understand; some of these processes are proprietary information of the vendors. I wouldn't think of asking them how to do something which is their "bread and butter". Now if they come out and wrote an article in the Corvette Restorer magazine, then that's another ball game. But, don't hold your breath. Someone else may have an equally good technique, great!

Re: 63 340 hp
Stu is correct; like aluminum valve covers and intakes; the restorers that 'reskin' these items hold their methods close to their chest as its a business secret. Jerry MacNeish does a lot of such work and he ain't talkin' I'm sure. You could call Ron at Daytona Parts in FL and ask about their process; he seems to be less protective of his methods. www.daytonaparts.com.- Top
