Re: 1965 Fuelie on ebay
Nice car,
Wonder if you might know why such an original car would have the wrong rocker panel moldings?
The engine pad is very different than many I've seen. The low hanging 1 and spacing between the 5 and the 0 look like it was free formed and not stamped with a gang stamp. The double hit on assembly pad is interesting too with V being very low.
Another pet peeve of mine is when they call a car without a radio a "Radio Delete". It's not a delete, its no radio option. "Heater Delete" on the other hand I believe was a "Delete".
Edit: Wait a minute, a V in the assembly code?

Re: 1965 Fuelie on ebay
I hate to say to much about the car, I ordered a am/fm radio, tele column, T.I ignition, knock-off wheels, and when I sold the car in 1967 it had 45,000 miles. Look at the pictures and you can see many items that have been changed. Cary at D&M Corvette was with me when I went to view can in calif. engine, rear end, fuel unit, dist, I can go on and on. I don't know what you are trying to say about D&M I only said that Cary who has been restoring Corvettes for 35 years was my expert when we looked at the car- Top

I'm fairly new to the Forum... do you guys often critique "original" Corvettes for sale on the web?
I think it's both educational (I learned from this thread), and provides a service by calling out questionable cars and sellers.
Maybe this could be a weekly educational event: The Forum moderator/facilitator (do we have one of those?) picks out an "original" car for sale, then we all practice and share our judging skills.Mark Edmondson

Are you saying that the engine, rear end, fuel unit, distributor have been changed since you owned it?Mark Edmondson

Threads like this do come up. Most of the time it's when a seller is representing a car that may not be exactly what it is said to be in the ad.
It is very educational and sometimes entertaining.
The all time classic was before my time. I think it was a '67 L71 with the super rare engine assembled at Fonawanda.
