At what point did the Corvette switch from a generator driven tachometer to a distributer driven tach?

1961 was the last year for some engine options to have tachometer generator driven. 62 was first for all engine options to be distributor driven.

Also, in addition to Mike's comment, for 57-61 cars, ONLY those with a SOLID LIFTER FI engine had the tach driven by the distributor. In 57, only VERY FEW solid lifter FI cars had the tach driven by the distributor, all the rest were generator driven. By 58, all solid lifter FI cars had the tach driven by the distributor.
