Passenger side headlight bucket goes up slowly but will not go back down without someone manually pushing it. Where is the best place to start in tracking down the problem.

Re: 1965 Headlight bucket
All headlight bucket problems fall into a few areas:
1) Dash switch corrosion or connector corriosion
2) Galled main gear (reproductions available)
3) Grease in motor has congealed into clay
4) Headlight bucket rotational parts are binding
That's it. Once you've confirmed you have a good 12V going to the motor; then you can remove the motor (its a connector, bolt and hairpin clip) and test the bucket for binding. The bucket should flip up/down with the flick of a finger. If THAT'S all right, since you have the motor out anyway its a quick job to restore it. I have an article on how to do that if you find that's the issue.- Top

Re: 1965 Headlight bucket
The reproduction main gears in the motors were too large for many years; that has been corrected....the new repros fit perfectly...- Top
