    73 Anti-diesel Solenoid Wire Question

Does the tan colored anti- dieseling solenoid wire just slide through the left side valve cover brackets on the L48 or are there plastic clips the wire slides through then snaps into the VC brackets? Not sure, I want to replace my original wire. The previous owner cut it off to add the longer red wire to attach to the edelbrock solenoid located on the opposite side of the engine. luckily he did save the old wire. Can't find any pix that clearly show me what the wire attaches to.
Tried to find the parts(clips) out there, but no luck so far. Thanks.

Jim, I am pretty sure the metal retainer clips on the valve cover secure the tan wire. at least that how my 72 are.

When you say metal clips, do you mean the two brackets welded to the top of the valve covers with the holes for retainers to plug in, like the right side? My left side cover does not have metal clips on the back edge.

There are 2 metal brackets welded to the valve cover and black plastic clips that snap into the brackets the wire goes through the black plastic clips on my original owner car.

Jim, My 72 has a couple of bend over style retainers that are spot welded to cover maybe 73 is different. does the 73 AIM show anything?

73s don't use the bend over tabs. Instead they have a bracket with holes in it welded to the valve cover. Plastic wire retainers pop into the hole and the wire fits into two slots in the retainer.

I looked for several years and found no source of repros.

The same clip is used under the hood for the wire going to the cowl induction.

                      Thanks Lyle,
That's what the guy from Corvette Central told me, most everyone is using, but he couldn't be positive and I wanted to be sure. I will probably need to buy the harness to get the clips. Don't think they are sold separately. What would I do without you man?
