A friend gave me a copy of the Feb/Mar 1976 edition of Corvette News magazine. It is the only copy of Corvette News I have - interesting but not relevant or important to me. It is in very good but not pristine condition. It is available for free to anyone that would like it. Send me a personal e mail with your address and I will be happy to send it to you.

Re: "Corvette News" Magazine
Front cover shows the hood of a yellow Stingray with a lion standing on it. Articles include a tour of a safari park in CA (thus the lion on the hood); the restoration of a 54 Corvette; a story about the manufacturing of 1973 Corvette aluminum wheels; a parts swap meet in Watkins Glen and the usual editors article, a few letters and schedule of events - pretty bland stuff.
Obviously, old Corvette News magazines are not coveted like the early (or all) editions of Playboy. Too bad Chevrolet didn't have a centerfold pic of a Corvette back then - perhaps there would be more demand for them among collectors.Ed- Top

Re: "Corvette News" Magazine
I had an almost complete set that I tried to sell with no luck. I ended up throwing them into the recycle bin along with all my old Vette Vues, Corvette Enthusiast and all the other car mags. I don't look at anymore. No need to have them around collecting dust. I haven't parted with my collection of Corvette Restorer yet but that time is coming soon as well.- Top

Re: "Corvette News" Magazine
My experience has been that any issues after Volune 11 (1968) are pretty much worthless except for someone who wants an entire Volume/Year to match their specific corvette model year. FYI, Volume 11 was the last of the old style covers. There is increasing value as you work downward to Volume One with Volume 1,2,3 and 4 still being quite valuable. Now NCRS Restorer magazines are a different story. Their value has slipped more over the last 10 years but early issues are still worth saving.- Top

Re: "Corvette News" Magazine
I am currently going thru many boxes of old car mags and will then cull the herd so to speak of a few I like to much to part with and rest will go to friend of mine in his 20s who is car guy of the old stuff. I would like to look a some of the early ones from the 66-70 time frame if anyone is dallas area has them to "loan out" for a few days. Ralph, I should have ask you when we met in Boston but didn't think of it, given me something to do when not visiting with my daughter, oh well that is life.Michael

Re: "Corvette News" Magazine
I started receiving CN when I bought my used '69 in '74 and have all issues from then on until the end. A neighbor and a work colleague later gave me some of their earlier issues from the early '60's so I now have most of them from '63 on. Too bad that era has passed-lots of interesting Corvette articles and information for the time that was not available in other car mags. The internet changed all that...
I'll hang on to mine for now-good Winter reading material that can take you back to a simpler time.- Top

Re: "Corvette News" Magazine
Not so sure about "internet changing everything" except there's a lot of stuff out there, a lot of which is bs. In 1975, soon after I bought my first Corvette, a '66 L79, my wife gave me a hard copy "Best of Corvette News." The tech articles all game from GM rather than some internet blogger of questionable knowledge, and I still find some of them useful.Options, specs, and tuneup info on all models included here.- Top
