How canI tell the difference if a tank was installed by a dealer or came from the factory with the tank?

Re: 63 Dealer vs Factory installed Big Tank
I am sure if a dealer did do it he would not write N O3 in the 2 areas nor would he patch up the bulk head rivet holes. If you think the tank is not factory it was probably installed by a previous owner.- Top

Now I know of one case where a dealer has removed the tank from a new big block '66 due to request from the potential buyer.- Top

Re: 63 Dealer vs Factory installed Big Tank
I'm not sure if my tank is factory or dealer installed, I agree their is a lot involved to have a dealer replace the quarters, the bulkhead with the correct brackets and rivet's, rework the wheel wells, place the jack hook in correct location, install the tank straps correctly, not sure if another wiring harness is required for the tank sending unit, etc..... but I just don't know, but everything looks 100% correct from what I can tell, I can post pictures if need to.........- Top

The fact that it appears 100% correct is another clue that a dealer did not do it. The chances are great that if a dealer did it, it would not be 100% correct. Why would the dealer at that time have cared that it be 100% correct? In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Here's one simple way: When you reply, you will see the above menu. Select the 3rd icon from the right, then the screen below will come up. Select "Basic Uploader"

Then this will come up:

Select: "From Computer", then select "Choose file". Find the picture file on your computer that you wish to upload and select it and hit "upload". That should do it. There are other ways, too.Mike

I would suggest you join your closest nearby chapter, and make friends with the people running it. Perhaps you could offer your car for the subject of a tech session that you would take your car to, and the car be put up on a lift for members to check out. There must be people in the chapter with knowledge of your year car with N03 who would conduct the session. Local club members would probably learn a lot looking at your car, whether original or not.- Top
