    Production # for 1967 327/350 with AC

    hey ...

just wondering if these figures are correct....

    # made cost
    C60 Air Conditioning 3,788 412.90

    ENGINE CODE SUFFIX HORSEPOWER PRODUCTION
    L79 HP 350 34
    L79 KH 350 77
** got the above info from a tech article
Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a technique and device are described that may allow a user to determine if the engine in a classic or antique automobile is original. The common characteristics of the factory applied markings of known original engines may be identified. All or a portion of an unknown engine may then be compared to those common characteristics to determine if the unknown engine was likely stamped using the same stamping tool as the known original engines.

    and if these suffix codes
    HP .. 327..350 . 1x4BC, Hi-Lift Cam, A/C, P/S & 4-Spd
    KH . 327..350 .1x4BC, Hi-L Cam, K19, A/C, P/S, 4-Sp

are the only way to have gotten factory AC on the 327/350 cars...

or could these get it also (if ordered)
    HT .. 327..350 . 1x4BC, Hi-LiftCam & 4-Speed
    HD . 327..350 .. 1x4BC, Hi-LiftCam, K19 & 4-Speed

    ENGINE CODE SUFFIX HORSEPOWER PRODUCTION
    L79 HT 350 3226
    L79 HD 350 398
    Thanks in advance.

HT is 350 with 4 speed which can have AC and still have the HT code, HP is 350 with 4 speed, PS and AC, HD is 350 with smog and AC. You could have an L79 with AC and without PS (HT code).

          Bill,
Very nice car. Did you buy it from a dealer out of NJ? A 350hp PS AC car is a rare car. Very nice. I have a 350hp Smog leather redline, etc car. PS makes the engine code HP as opposed to HT for a 350hp AC non-PS car. Nice score. Enjoy it. I think the L79 motor is one of the best driving motors GM ever built....ARA

            Ara -

yes it is from the dealer in NJ.

I been looking for a very long time, and this car just give me a good feeling.

its #s match car and has most all correct (important/expensive) parts on it.

Was told it had one repaint in lacquer 15+ years back and the seat covers/carpet were replaced.
otherwise - all original body, interior, chassis, etc...
it is a 68K mile car, titled with actual mileage, and all title history back to 1st owner..

great car to drive around for several years and maybe do a proper restoration on it later.

                  Hello;
Seems to me I read someone started a registry for L79 with A/C Corvettes.
Can't find it at this writing.
L79s have always been a favorite here

I would thing most AC equipped 67'S would have PS & PB + other options. I had 4 67 AC 350 HP Corvettes & all 4 2 coup & 2 Conv. had PS.

                      hey ...

thanks for all the great input...

I am really happy about the car. It is going to be fun to drive and not have to trailer it around.

I am soooooo tired of having cars that you are always looking over your shoulders because of. I will be glad to not get anxiety when I see a rain cloud coming my way.. :-)))

I hope to be able to drive the car to Texas in the fall.
maybe even get it judged once just to see how far off things are and get a nice baseline to work off of.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

NOLAND ADAMS VON 2 book has records for each engine, and auto trans or manual, and coupe or convertible. IT TOOK ME OVER 5 HOURS TO MAKE THIS TABLE BACK IN 2007. I HAVE WRITTEN A FEW ARTICLES ABOUT AIR CONDITIONED CARS MADE. IT WAS A VERY RARE OPTION. ONLY 10.2% TOTAL IN 1963 THRU 1967.

JG: Interesting listing and of value to everyone. Was it possible to break out the subdivision categories like code "HW", L79, A/C, 4 spd and TI?

One of our AZ NCRS chapter has a C-2 with AC & is a 3 speed. I love the old cars people added the options they want NOT what the manufactures make you buy now.
