    1958 Corvette frame

I have a 1958 Corvette that is completely disassembled. The original frame was very rusty and broken and was scrapped many years ago. I did buy a 1957 Corvette frame years ago to use on this car.
Would the car be up to NCRS standards for judging if restored using this 1957 frame?

    George,

The rear crossed member in '58's is different. The rear cross member in late '57 had 4 holes in preparation for the '58 bumpers, but no nut plates. The nut plates inside the rear cross member could be the only difference between a late '57 frame and a '58 frame

      Thanks Gary,
I have been reading the other threads on this subject and it seems that the number stamped on the frame would be a detraction. I would prefer to bring this car back to original with correct numbers, but it may not be possible with this frame issue. I did this almost 40 years ago when I first bought the car and I didn't know the importance of "original numbers". My other option is to restomod the car with a late model Corvette frame and drive train. I haven't looked very hard, but I have never seen a 58 Corvette frame for sale.

        George,

Only thing "stamped" into the frame is the Car's VIN stamp. The VIN stamp can't be read during Judging.

        The frame stencil is painted.
