    C6 Tires

It's time to replace my 2006 tires. I have the Z51 suspension and I got 23k out of my original tires.

I'm looking at Nitto Invo, Michelin and Conti's, all are non-runflats. Also looking at Firestone runflats.

The fronts are 245-40-18 and the rears are 285-35-19.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Thanks

    Harry,

I just went through this and picked up the Michelin Super Sport ZP as used in the new 2014-15 Stingray. I drove them to Joplin and back right after having them installed, and the ride is great.

I scoured CF for hours reading comparisons. My other choice was the Michelin as used on the C6 Z06/ZR1s, but they were more expensive and from what I could find the Super Sports were the "next" advancement.

        Harry,

At the recommendation of Terry McManmon (spelling) I replaced the crappy Good Year run-flats on my 2008 Z06 with the Michelin run-flats. They were higher priced but what a huge difference when traveling on the highway. Far less road noise and a better ride.

Discount Tire is a good source for purchase and install.

Terry and I talked quite a bit about them too before my purchase.

Had a set of Goodyear Run-flats. Would not recommend them to my enemies! Hard as a rock and sounded like a train on the highway.

Go with the Michelin described above. You will love the ride and get a lot more than 23K. More like 60K!

The Michelins are great, and the Pirelli P-Zeros are also a good choice. I am assuming you need a run-flat (no spare possible) on your car? Run flats are much stiffer and noisier than non-run flats, all else being equal.

                Harry,
Just picked up a set of Bridgestone Potenza RF for my Z.
Costco was $150 than Tire Rack and about $500 cheaper than Michelin RF

I agree that the GY run flats are garbage. It's a shame that you spend $60+K for a car and have to spend an addition $2K to put decent tires on it.

just put some conti DW on my 03Z that many love...I do not like the cornering aspects... sidewalls are soft and on turns feels mushy which is not good to make you feel confident. I will say they ride nice and don't break loose, but I wouldn't push them the way they feel. I am considering taking back to discount tire and getting the Michelin super sports and call it a day.

                        Hi Harry
You got very good wear from your Goodyears. When I replaced the GY's on my 2006 I went with Firestone FirehawksRF.
What a difference! When I needed tires on my 2009, I looked at the Bridgestones and the Firestones.
I again went with the Firestones and I was again impressed with them.

Harry, I just replaced the original 20K mile run flats on my C5 with Michelin SS non run flats. 30K mile, 6 year warranty.

Thanks for the input all. I'll take a serious look at the Michelin's.
