Simple operational question for any veteran C2 owner. Do the headlight motors and the power windows operate off battery (key off) or ignition (key on) power? Just powered up this car after a 3 year refurbish and both systems are powered with ignition off. Thanks!

Re: C2 electrical problem or not??
Hey Doug,
The headlights will work with the ignition switch in the off position. The power windows should not work with the ignition off. However, there was a modification offered by GM that could be made to allow the power windows to be operable with the ignition in the off position. I think it involved a jumper wire at the point of the power window relay which is located to the left of your knee when sitting in the driver's seat. I would take a close look at the power window wiring circuit. It should be an easy fix to make the windows not operated with the ignition switch off.- Top

Re: C2 electrical problem or not??
Power windows were connected to the battery cavity in the fuse block from '63-'66, and worked with the ignition switch in either the ACC, OFF, or ON positions. That changed to ignition-switched power for '67, and '67 power windows only work with the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position.- Top

I remember back when the cars had to have the power windows inop with the ignition off. Don't remember what year but it was a safety issue after a window chocked a child to death.
