I'm looking to remove the trim from the t-tops on a 72 in preparation for painting. Apparently need to drill out the pop-rivets that hold the side trim in place. I don't see any ready access to remove the tail ends of the rivets. I thought about drilling a discreet hole in the underside of the top structure (that would be hidden by the trim), maneuver it around until they fall out. What have others done? Strategy?

Re: t-top trim rivets
I cut a rectangular piece out of the inside support brace between the two latching mechanisms.
you can then shake the crap out of the t-top and most all the pieces will come out.
the ones you want out are the metal ones, they rattle way worse than the plastic ones.
then you can glass the piece back in, do some body work and spray over with the flat black the perimeters were painted in.
no one will ever know...
