    Silver Corvette interior

I have a '66 coupe that Is coded on the data plate as having a silver interior.
A former owner changed this all to Black.

I'm wondering what I need to change back to silver, to return it to stock.
I've been looking at web photos, to discern the answer, but they are not entirely conclusive.

I think the seats, carpet, kick panels, set belts, rear window molding, molding around the overhead light, center "armrest" and door panels all need this change back to silver...I think...??
    Not clear on:
    1) the console (center color) itself
    2) the dash and dash pads
    3) the molding around the windshield and door jamb.
    4) the headliner

    Any help/documentation on this available??

Richard - a number of years ago, I ran across another member with a Black over Silver 66 425 Horse Roadster. Here's the interior pic of his Corvette, maybe it'll help a bit even though his is a Roadster.

      Richard,
Silver interior is stunning in person. What color is the exterior? A few years ago at Bloomington Gold there was a black 65 with a silver interior. Gorgeous car! The correct silver seatbelts might be a challenge to find. The owner does post here, unfortunately I don't recall his name. He did say expect a lot of attention will be paid to the trim tag if you have it judged, its a somewhat rare interior color.

Tony beat me to it - this is one very fine looking Corvette. I would even say stunning.

              Thanks, all for your help.
Do any of you have photos (or know) if the bird cage molding and headliner are also silver? I would presume they are.
My data plate says silver exterior on silver interior. Not nearly as pretty as the black on silver that you guys have shown.

Now having said that, mine is not a "numbers matching" anyway (frame and trans are the only things I'm sure match), so I can change it with impunity, yes??

And yes, I do have the body off and gutted...frame is already broken down and built up...what can I say....more time than sense, I guess...

                  Re: Silver Corvette interior

I've owned a '66 coupe silver over silver coupe that the PO converted to a black interior. I was never impressed with the monotony of the all black interior. I much prefer the color contrast of the silver seats and door panels with the grey carpet, black dash, coves, and console. When I restore my '66 silver over silver convertible, I will be using the original silver interior color palette. It really pops.

Jim, thanks for the response. On your coupe, would the birdcage molding and headliner be silver also?

Richard, I am the Original owner of a 64 Black coupe with Silver interior. The dash, steering column, and console are the only painted Black interior parts. Headliner is Silver. The samples of today's Silver vinyl that I have received, are a muted Silver and do not compare to the original color. Jack J.

Richard, Jack beat me to it. JM indicates headliner and trim moldings on your '66 coupe are "...interior color that matches the seats..." which in your case is silver.

                          Jack,
Is the interior lower windshield molding (between the windshield and the dash) also silver?
                          Thanks,

Richard, JM (page 23) says bottom piece of windshield trim is painted "...low gloss in the color of the dash." Ergo, black on your silver interior car.
