69 Jack Storage Compartment

Was the jack storage compartment blackout done before the floor clips (used to secure the jack) were riveted in the floor of the compartment? Meaning the clips were riveted in later and the rivets should be unpainted.

I don't know about 69 but my two 73s have no black-out while my 74 has heavy body color over spray. All hardware is natural with the exception of the black spring and plated spring hook.

Interesting! In Rick Bizzoco's "69 Stingray Guidebook" (p. 58), he states "The storage door frames, the inside storage door faces, and the storage compartments were all painted with blackout when the car went through the paint shop." Thanks Russ for taking the time to check and respond.

Wes, My 72 has black-out in the storage area, it was done about 3/4 of the way down. the top part has no paint, just the way the factory did mine
