    67 Speed Warning Label

    HI:

I am trying to discern if there is any rhyme or reason to the speed minder label (Green print) on the back of the 67 speed warning cluster.

I am under the impression that the labels with the red letters are on standard clusters and the labels with the green letters are on speed-warning equipped cars.

I have seen a couple of different letter combinations "LE", "LH" and "LA" in green on speed warning equipped cars...just to name a few.

The part numbers on the tag that I have ("LA") points to a speed warning tach and speedometer----

Any definitive information on decoding these would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Bill

    Re: 67 Speed Warning Label

    Bill,
I am no expert here, but I'm guessing the different red lines on tachs would demand different codes. I think the green "LA" indicates low-rpm speed minder, because that's what my 300hp car has.

The label on my Chevelle speed warning cluster is also in green print. And Mike is correct on the reason of different letters

Thanks Mike! That makes sense ---

I just acquired a 67 coupe with some interesting options ---

Head Rests, PW, Shoulder Belts, tint windshield (420JG coded trim tag) speed-warning, 4-speed and a 3.08:1 rear end so the green "LA" on the cluster would fit ....

        A real freeway cruiser!!

        Thanks Again
        Bill
