Penske timing light (Schematic diagram needed)

Can someone provide me a schematic diagram for a Penske timing light model 244.2115? This light was sold by Sears. If possible a matching parts list.

    Is this what you want??

I simply went to Sears Parts and typed in your part number.

A lot of used ones on Ebay (for parts or whole)

    Larry

EDIT: More info for you. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/68849-timing-light/

Thanks Larry, I did see that schematic but no parts list included and view not clear.

I have that timing lite and a sun model also. I don't have the parts list for the sears but the sun I have! There is very little parts to be bought. You can contact Sears&Roebuck on line I believe there is an avenue you can take for parts. If you live in greator Hartford ct area you can borrow mine

The Sears Parts List was next to the schematic drawing I provided. Perhaps a click or two of the mouse or trackball was needed to bring it up. You are correct, there were only a few parts available for this timing light: a few nuts, bolts, and screws, and a few resistors and diodes.

The second link I provided had the part number for a compatible flash tube from an Actron light that others have used/substituted.

Ebay is also full of similar lights for a few $……either for parts or for full use.

This is a very nice timing light that I had personally used for over 30 years myself, but switched to an Actron "dial-back" years ago. I gave my old Penske light away to another.

Just buy a new digital dial back light that also gives rpm-some give dwell also. Not that expensive and you'll find it much more useful than your old broken one.

I did notice the abbreviated part list but I was hoping that a more detailed list might be available that shows the capacitor detail including the voltage rating. One particular capacitor such as what I believe is labeled C4 across the tube and 100K resistor.

Thanks for the offer to use your light but I am a bit to far away. I will do a little searching first to see if I can find the necessary parts to fix the light.

                  Thanks but,
Before I resort to the new timing light I want to explore possible repair path. I would like to say with the old light it goes well with my old vett and old owner.

                    Rich,

Can you take it apart and take a look at the capacitor? It should say what the voltage rating is. Are you sure the capacitor is bad?

Re: Penske timing light (Schematic diagram needed)

Yes the cap is defective. There is no identification as to capacity or voltage rating on the cap just a part number that I can not reference anywhere. It is a large paper style located in the light handle.

                        Rich,

Well, I guess nothing is ever easy! What is the part number?
