1967 Strut Rod & Camber Bracket at Differential

The rear suspension on this '67 had the later "large end" strut rods installed. I acquired the correct restored strut rods and now uncertain about the Strut Bracket itself. I'm not sure if it's the 1963-1967(3817827) or the 1968 to 1979(356932).

Here are some photos of the removed Bracket and the new correct strut rods.(pair at bottom of 2nd photo)

Here is a measurement of this bracket for reference. I get apx 1 3/4" depth as shown.

Here in this Archived thread, Joe Lucia posted some photos of the differences between the 3817827(bottom) & 356932(top). Here they are...

I'm pretty sure I have the correct 3817827 Bracket, but if anyone could take a measurement of theirs at the area I did, it would help me confirm.

    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi Richard,
I think the 1 3/4 offset bracket is correct for the midyear Corvettes. Years ago when the C3 cars came out with the bracket with less offset, lots of the Corvette magazines ran articles about how great changing the roll center was to handling. I changed bracket my 1965 and could not see and difference in normal driving. Maybe people who were big into autocrossing could tell the difference, but for everyday driving not worth the trouble.
    Great meeting you at Lakeland,

I got this uneasy feeling earlier today when I went to disassemble those later version struts. Did some research and just needed some more confirmation.

        Page,
thanks for your reply. Yes it was great for me working with you on the BB cars. You were a great Instructor when I OJ'd with you.

        Joe,
thanks to your pictures posted in that thread it helped but I wasn't positive. Thanks for now confirming here.

        Another "wrong part" disaster averted!

The larger bushing strut rods have been SERVICE for 1963-74 Corvettes (all originally equipped with the smaller version) since about 1976. So, it's not too surprising that they might be found on 63-74 Corvettes.
