    Accumulator/Dryer for 72 Air Conditioner

Bought a new air conditioner accumulator/dryer for my 72. The box says AC Delco replaces GMpart #3046236.After opening the box, asticker attached to the dryer says manufactured by Parker, made in China, for use with R134.
Are any of these still manufactured in the USA? Would it be compatible with R12?
    Thanks for your response.

First, is this an actual AC-Delco part? The reason I ask that is because you say it says "replaces GMpart #3046236". If it's an actual AC Delco part is should be a GM #3046236 also known as AC Delco #15-1240. This part is a "direct descendent" of the part originally used on your car and, as such, should be compatible with R-12 (although it may also be compatible with R-134a).

As far as the country of origin goes, you're going to find China as the source for many parts these days. Even if you go with another brand, you could very well find the exact same part in the box. China is the country of origin for MANY aftermarket parts. In fact, if you look closely at components of NEW cars, including Corvettes, you will find many components sourced from China.

Joe and Larry, thanks for the input. This is a Delco dryer. The box gives the GM part number and the Delco number. Sounds like I'm good to go with the R12.
