    '57 Headlight Wiring Procedure

My '57 Vin # 4026 headlight wiring to main wiring harness connection layout is located in different location than the AIM. So my dilemma is when I removed the original wiring to restore the engine compartment I did not take adequate pictures of the connection layout on the inner fenders. I have pictures of the clamp location, but not with wiring. At the time I thought I would just check out the appropriate holes in the inner fender, reference the AIM layout and I'd be fine. However there must have been a change in the AIM for the LH location of the (2) connectors for the headlights, turn signals and horns. My clamps for the (2) connectors are located on the inner fender next to the voltage regulator, not on the front panel next to the radiator support as shown in the AIM and also on a photo David Smith sent me on his outstanding Bow Tie car. What I'd like to find is someone with a picture or diagram of the correct way to route the head lamp, turn signal wiring to the original factory (AIM) configuration?

    Thanks,

    Wayne Gibson

    Wayne -

Photos below show the original wire routings on my '57 #4275; I replaced the harnesses during the restoration in 1995, but the clips/clamps and screws are all in their original locations.

      John,

Thanks for the photos of your wiring routing harness. Please see the attached photos of mine. I'm trying to determine why mine was installed this way and if other '57's have the head light harness clips mounted on the inner fender and not on the bulk head.

      Thanks for your help.IMG_0967.jpg
