66-67 jacks

Is there a difference in a 66 or 67 jack? Are the handles different? Are either of the jacks date coded?

The jacks were dated starting in January 1967 with the letter A

I thought they were dated with the number 7 , no ?

A7 or B7 or C7 and so forth

Ah ha !

I have a 66 , so all I knew was that I didn't have a date code . I thought I remembered though, that the 67s and up just had the year stamped into them . I didn't know about the month .

Like I said they did not start dating them until January of 67

Jim, you should have an undated Type 3 jack. They were used from late '65 models until dated jacks began appearing in early '67. As Keith correctly pointed out, the first date on Type 3 jacks is A7 (January, 1967).
