    '93 Battery Drain

I have reason to believe that the alarm system on the '93 has transformed itself into a parasitic battery drain. Can the system be
shut down without interrupting anything else on the car. I can be trained, with some effort, to use the key.
As another part of "chasing the drain", a solid light indicating the drain can be turned into a flickering light by removal of the radio
fuse - any explanation that fits this situation is welcomed. Thanks.

Have you researched your fuse block information in your owners manual to see what fuses that control the alarm system can be removed to stop the parasitic drain?

I have a 93 since new. I am on my third delco battery. The car has a Battery pal trickle charger on it. It maintains a 14 volt charge which will compensate for any phantom voltage. As far as pulling fuses to find problems I would check for non corroded grounds They usually are under a ring type washer which looks like a star. They are silver in color and the helms book can help you locate them, also I should have said look for corroded grounds,

        Loren,

Later models eat batteries. If you don't drive them every day and have a fully charged battery you will have the symptoms you are having on everything from 1991 to 1996. Been there and done that! My 1996 which I have proudly 238,000 miles recently started having strange symptoms with the PKE (alarm system). The battery cables at the battery were loose. Replaced the bolts and its fixed until the next time.
