    61 Passenger side mounting studs at center carpet seam

    My son is looking at a real nice fully restored 61 that appears to show two studs sticking up from the floor next to the tunnel at the seam between the floor carpet and the tunnel carpet. The carpet appears to be open there intentionally to clear the studs. I told him the only thing I could think of that they may have been for was perhaps a factory fire extinguisher mount.

    Any C-1 experts know their purpose?

    May be remnants of two Philips screws that were put in the carpet to hold in place as shown in the assembly manual. Only on passenger side.

      Jerry;

      Thanks for your response. These studs seem to stick up at least an inch, but as you say; the only item in the assembly manual are the two screws. We'll inquiry of the owner to shed some light.

      Thanks again.

        No factory fire extinguisher mount for sure. Not done.
