I have a rebuilt 67 radio (Jerry did the work)and a rebuilt original speaker. Put it in the car and have pretty good reception on FM and a loud buzzing/humming noise on AM. It is in the garage (and not movable for a few weeks) I was able to get one station on am to come in but it was very difficult to hear. I was not running the car only had the radio on through the ignition switch. What is causing the loud humming?? It was late (9:30 pm) when I tried this and some radio stations don't broadcast with the strength at night. Jerry is on vacation for a few months. Need your help on this one.

Re: 67 Radio Reception
If you have fluorescent lights in your garage, that's probably your problem. If so, turn your lights off and see if the problem goes away. They raise he!! with AM but not FM. The wonderbar in my 60 receives nothing but static until I pull it outside.- Top

Re: 67 Radio Reception
Keith, also AM reception is tough to begin with. I know when we did OPs in Lakeland (in aircraft hangar) we knew reception would very very difficult. Jim is correct, fluorescent lights do, for some reason, interfere with AM reception. Make sure your ground is secured well for the antenna also (rear drivers side tire area) and not grounded on top of paint. Outside, with a snug ground, and during day hours, i am sure you will be fine. Good luck with it pal. Cheers!! ARA- Top

Re: 67 Radio Reception
Keith,
Don't know if your 67 radio has the Trim adjustment screw on it. On my 73 delco there is a trim adjustment screw just above the right side(tuner) knob. It is visible before the knobs are put on. If you set the am dial to around 1600 you can turn the screw until you get the loudest noise. Jerry did my radio also, and just got it back a few weeks ago. He stressed that I had to do this process for best reception. He is away, but if you try this email address he may get back to you. help@elctrodesign.us
