Carpet support/ wire cover

I have a 64 roadster. While putting in a new rear wiring harness, I decided to replace the carpet support / wire cover. Looking at the LI Corvette catalog they say 63/64 should have 7 clips on each side. Mine has just three. VIN 119732 so it was relatively late in the 64 production year. Is it possible that GM changed late in the 64 run. Any thoughts? Leonard Ehlmann 54043

64 vin 19299, a roadster also, had but 3 clip retaining the stamped steel plate. mike

Look in your '64 Assembly Manual, in UPC 1 Bolt/Weld, sheet B1.00, item #4; you'll see that there are three clips shown - one at the front hole, one at the third hole, and one at the second-to-last hole. There are seven rivets per side, but only three of them also retain carpet support clips.
