Is a red stock steering wheel rim correct for a red interior 1973 ? I believe that all of the C3s that I have seen have black plastic steering wheel rims. Has anyone seen a red rim for a C3?

All 1969-75 steering wheels were black. The steering wheel used for 1973 was GM #333590. I have at least 2 NOS examples of this wheel [none for sale] and they're black.

However, this steering wheel was not exclusive to Corvettes. It was also used on some Buick models (Skylark, I think). The Buick models also used identical steering wheels which were available in several colors, red being one. So, someone must have obtained one of these Buick wheels and installed it on your car.
