62 lighter

I need assistance on the removal of a 62 lighter.
I have to replace the entire unit.

You unplug the wire and the bulb. You hold onto the outside of the lighter (the part you see from the drivers seat) with one hand and hold onto the backside with other hand and they unscrew. Hope this helps

Terry, I tried this and both turn but will not separate?
do you have any futher suggestions.

Short of using channel locks, no this is how it comes apart. Are you sure you are turning the right direction? My guess is if it hasn't been apart in ions it is corroded. You can wrap the pliers ends with tape to not hurt the housing.

I have used flat nosed outside snap ring pliers to hold the inside the of housing, and loosen the outside or rear part. Make sure the power has been removed before you stick the pliers in the hole.
