1996 original tires

I just purchased a 1996 CE conv. with 27K original miles. After delivery today I was looking at the tires. Can anyone tell me if these are the original ones?

Any idea if these 6 digit numbers are the date codes and if they are what are the dates? If they aren't exactly what am I looking for?

GOODYEAR EAGLE GS-C EMT

front tires P255 45 ZR 17 GW 64RKNVE (RF) 273915
\ GW 64LKNVE (LF) 273916

rear tires P285 40 ZR 17 GW 64RKNVE (RR) 273917
GW 64LKNVE (LR) 273477

when the factory balanced the tires, were the weights on the backside of the rim only or were weights on the front and backside?

Jimmy, Look for RPO code WY5 Perf. package, extended mobility tires. Also the wheel weights were on both sides of the rims, plastic coated clip on type.
Goodyear EMT tires have been the only tires available for replacement, non EMT tires have not been reproduced yet.

Folks, here are photos of the date codes for the original tires off my 1995 Coupe with a build date of August 1994.
You can see 254 for the Twenty fifth week of 1994 and 264 for the Twenty sixth week of 1994.
Hope this helps. I have all the date codes if you are interested.
