    63 Ride Height

I've got a friend whose original '63 has a ride height which is a little off. It measures, on the right side of the car, 3/4" low on at the fenderwell on both front and rear, relative to the left side. Underneath everything "appears" to be OK. There's been no body work performed and there's no frame damage......What would be your first thing to look at? I don't want to "try" anything without some advice.

Brad, Typically the old original front coil springs could be the culprit for a start. I know they were on my '63. John

If the car is really original the old bushings on the rear spring are most likely compressed and need to be replaced.

Ground to fender dimensions are not a valid ride height measurement. Start by measuring the Z and D dimensions as explained in the shop manual and AIM.

Duke....In addition to the fender measurements I also carefully laid an 8-foot wooden 2x4 horizontally across both the front and rear fenders. I then used a long bubble level to determine that the car definitely leans to the right about 3/4" to 1" all along the car. However I will certainly measure the Z and D dimensions as soon as I can.....Thanks
