Hi... Are Transmissions (685/T-10) pre dated(and dated) to the build date of the car or are they just the same year of the car? Thank's, Brad.

T-10's are identified by cast-in raised characters that show the casting date of the major components (main case, extension housing, and side cover), and the assembly date (day) is stamped on a machined pad on the main case adjacent to the side cover.

Hi John...do they need to pre date the build day of the car? If so by how many days or weeks? or does it matter for judging? Are all late 57-62 dated? Thank's again.

Just like any dated part, it should precede the build date of the car. NCRS allows up to 6 months, but I would think the dates are commonly within a month or two of the car build date.

If you are in the market for a 58 trans, I hope you are sitting down when you see the prices......... Been there........
