    Charlotte 70-72 Flight Judging Cars

    Hi,
Here are the 70-72 cars from the Flight Judging at Charlotte on Saturday.
I think each one is quite special!

    Wow, nice looking chrome bumpers!
    But only three?
I'm wondering how the NCRS can sustain itself with such low turnout numbers?

Thanks for those of us that are unable to make the meet!
Those southern folks down there sure know how to have fun! lol

          Hi Enzo,
          I'm sorry but no.
Someone there gave me a hard time for taking and posting pictures before the next RESTORER would appear with pictures of the meet.
So I just took and posted only the 70-72 pictures.
Here's a couple that happen to have 53-62 cars in the background.
          Regards,
          Alan

              Hi Enzo,
You missed a very good meet.
The 'garage' is a terrific space and it's location in the infield is quite a spectacle.
When the cars were all in place on Thursday afternoon it was a beautiful sight.
Maybe there'll be another opportunity for you to attend a meet there in the future.
              Regards,
              Alan

I agree. It was a really great show. If the rain had held off yesterday it would have been even better. First two days the weather was awesome. I'm thinking there were about 75-80 cars there.

Alan...I don't know who gave you a hard time about posting photos from a meet...but it wasn't me...and I'm the editor and don't have a problem with you posting photos of any cars from a meet...I just have too much to do during the course of a meet to post photos but I don't have a problem with anyone posting photos...

Alan and Vinnie, as you know I publish our chapter newsletter and it was also not I who did that. Who else would care?

There were about 45 judged cars I believe, and that includes several American Heritage candidates. And about 20 PV's in all the classes. You also had 3 C5's going through practice judging to finalize the judging manual, as the C5 officially becomes a class after the National in Denver. Probably around 20 Sportsman cars, along with a 1978 pace car on display for award of 5th Star at National.

What a great venue for a Regional. I am not a NASCAR fan, but I was really taken back by the tour of the Hendricks Facilities. I now know where all the 1967 Big Blocks are stashed. We received a private tour that was not open to the public and the folks there went out of their way to make us feel at home. Oh yea, the dinner was great and for a worthy cause.

The 1996 Grand Sport was an Export Model that went to Germany and then back. A lot of different items than a Domestic Model, including the date coding on the special export windows.

The Carolina Regional at the Charlotte Speedway is one Regional you should attend.

That is good to hear. Vinnie, I owe you some photos that I will be processing today. I will send you the .dwg files. Also, here is a link to our Chapter's Events page where there is a gallery of images from the Regional. I'll also be adding to this gallery throughout the week as I get time to process them.

I have never been to Charlotte, but I was high bidder at a charity auction for a day with Rick Hendrick at the track and his collection. I was wondering if it would be interesting, looks like it will be, thanks for the descriptions of the place!
