Adjusting leaf spring bolts to trim rear height

Can some one tell me does tightening the rear spring bolts raise the height, I am trying to trim the height its about a 1/8 in of side to side. I know its not much but would like to try to correct.

    Hi Edward,
It's good to talk to you!
Yes. Tightening the nut on the bolt increases ride height.
There's really very little adjustment in the original bolt because of the length of the threaded portion is quite short.
The amount of adjustment is also limited by the need to get the cotter pin in the hole in the bolt and a slot in the nut.
    Regards,
    Alan

Thanks Alan, I think I may have a turn or two , I try tomorrow and see what happens. I am going to loosen one side and tighten the other.

        Hi Ed,
You are correct with the adjustment.

The stock bolts are 6.25" long with the cotter pin and castle nuts. They work with a stock steel spring but bolt in an aftermarket one and who knows. I have never been able to use them with a new aftermarket steel spring, I always had to step up to 8" bolts
