The only original application I can find is 1974 Chevrolet and GMC truck with 6 cylinder engine. If the date is actually 1972, then there must have been an earlier application but I can't find it.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Here is the stamp. I cleaned it up for the pictures mostly to show there was no "home stamp experiment". Thank you for checking Joe, I figure if anyone had a clue it would be you. Also, thanks Ralph; I saw that reference to Jeep/Buick, but looking further alone that path gave no results.

It looks like 1972 to me. The part number is a series that would have been released about 1972 so that also "jives". However, given the late July date, it was probably intended for a 1973 application. Although the records don't indicate it, perhaps the truck application actually began for 1973 rather than 1974.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

OK, thanks. I kind of expected it would be the "closed" style. I think the 5 spoke "open" style ended sometime during the 1971 model year. It's hard to pin down, though, because the part number never changed. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
