Getting a C1 onto a flat bed trailer

My 1960 died yesterday and needed to be towed home. Haggerty provided a flat bed truck and all went well BUT the driver was not quite sure where to attach the chain to pull the car up onto the trailer and I was not help. Just curious (for the next time) - where should one attach the hooks to the front of the corvette to pull it up onto the flat bed trailer?
    Thanks,
    Joe

The inboard ends of the lower control arms are strong enough to withstand the winching hooks.

Jim is correct. That is how my C1 and C3's have been loaded with no problems. Steve

        Thanks,
So I guess we can assume a C2 as well?

Yep. C2 and C3 are the same with very minor differences. Steve

My C2's have elongated slot-holes on each of the ground-facing frame rails just behind the front wheels where I've attached hooks on each rail to winch them onto flat beds. Works like a charm. I hate attaching to my A arms. Anybody use those frame slots and is it advisable?

I've seen many more torn holes in the frame than I have damaged a-arms. Probably about 25 to 0.

Holes in the frame that were designed from the beginning for use as commercial carrier tie-down locations have secondary reinforcements welded around them inside the frame to avoid tearing the frame skin; point stresses from "J"-hooks and "T"-hooks can be considerable.
