    1971 Taillight Housing

Just wondering if anyone has a method for replacing the mounting studs in the taillight housing. It appears they are pressed in somehow.
    thanks

Sheldon, I has one that was broken on my 72 and I just used a 1/-4 20 hex head bolt and ground down the head to look correct and JB welded into place.

      Hi Sheldon,
I did something similar with a stud on one of my housings.
Fortunately, because of the location of the studs (not under the lens' gasket) the head of the bolt doesn't need to be completely flat.
      Regards,
      Alan

If you drill them out to 13/64 and tap them 1/4-20 lock tight will hold them in.
