I just installed my rebuilt PS and just like the articles said, there was a violent spin to the left. I tried adjusting the nut on the end of the cylinder to get it better centered, but the threaded shaft turns when I turn the nut. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: PS Adjustment 66 327
Paul - I just went through the PS control valve on my 65 Coupe and the 'other end' of that threaded shaft has a couple of 'flats' that should hold it in place in the valve. The actual part names escape me now. Did you rebuild this yourself or buy it as a rebuilt unit? About how much threaded shaft is showing beyond the nylock nut right now?Mike T. - Prescott AZ.- Top

Re: PS Adjustment 66 327
Paul, Are you adjusting the correct nut. You want to adjust the control valve nut to center the spool.- Top

Re: PS Adjustment 66 327
I rebuilt it about a year ago and I think I tightened the adjusting nut too much. I took it off today and was about to run the nut off almost to the end. I reinstalled it and was able to adjust it with no kick back, so it was a good day. Thanks to everyone for their advice.- Top
