    fasteners: Shifter mounting bracket

Can someone help identify the type of bolt and washers used to mount the black metal bracket that the shifter is mounted to? (These are the two bolts that are fastened from the underside of the frame vertically not the horizontal bolts). Thanks, Pat

    Bolts were 3/8-16 X 7/8". Trimmed head (i.e. non-indented). SAE grade 5 (3 lines). Phosphate finished.

    Lockwashers were 3/8-16. Plain finish

Flat washers were 13/32" ID, 13/16" OD, and 1/8" thick. Zinc plated.

Referring to the 1969 AIM (UPC 7, sheet B2) and my 1969 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Oct. 1968) in Gr. 8.977 SCREWS, Sheet Metal and Tapping and Gr. 8.929 Flat Washers:

      Gr. 8.977 - Bolt # 9419402 Hex Washer Head, type "C" point, 5/16"-18 X 3/4, Cad. finish
Note: self tapping point "C" was for heavy or thick metal.

      Gr. 8.929 - Flat Washer # 120393, 11/32" X 11/16" X 5/64"

Bolt # 9418821, washer # 6255640, and lock washer # 103321 do not seem to be listed in my 1969 parts catalog.

      Standard Parts Catalog April 1983:
      Flat Washer # 6255640, 13/32" X 13/16" X 1/8" Cad. or Zinc finish

Thanks Dave and Joe. These were missing from my marked bag of fasteners for the shifter assembly- hopefully i have them in another area- your info will help me ID them.
        Thanks again.

The GM #9419402, 120393 were part of the HORIZONTAL fastening system for the bracket.

The GM #9418821, 6255640 and 103321 were the VERTICAL system fasteners. All of these were once available in SERVICE.
