Response to 73 Corvette EGR Valve Date Code Question Jimmy

    Jimmy,

Where is the stamping of the date on the face, top or bottom half (across?) of the valve and is it black ink? What size lettering 1/4", 1/8"?

    Thanks,

    tom

    Tom,
All my info was right on the top surface of the dichromate plated valve. It has "Rochester" stamped in it also. I'm sorry I don't have my car at home or I would post a photo. Maybe someone else on the forum will post a pic. Or maybe try to find one on ebay. I'll look to see if there is one out there.

      Tom,
There is a great example on ebay right now. If you type in Original 73 Corvette EGR valve . There is one on there for $25.00 for an L48 Automatic. It will show you where everything is on the top of the valve. Hope this helps.

Jimmy could not find 73 Vette EGR Valve for $25 L-48 automatic.

I posted again and got that you answered it initially. I have a photo of mine but, I think the date code is at the 6 O'Clock position of the valuve under the NP7047065 part # it is stamped in 342 1. I think, I've attached it to this Thread. Let me know what you think.

        Thanks again

          Tom,
I don't see a photo attached to your thread. Yes, the date code is stamped beneath the part number as you indicate on yours. Monte posted a great picture of his in your other post on this topic.
