On a 1962 300 HP, the diagram shows the brass fitment screwing in the rear of the AFB as being multi port, ie. one going to the PCV and another going to the automatic trans. I have a 4 spd. I have seen a 90 deg. brass fitting (single port only to the PCV) used as well on std trans. Which is correct; or are they both correct? Thank you

If I recall, the 1963 fittings were similar. I don't have my 1962 AIM handy so sorry if I got it wrong, but I have some photos of the '63 brass fittings. Maybe it'll help.

This is the conglomeration I had on our '63 300 HP (with stock AFB) with Power Brakes and Air Conditioning(aftermarket).
Please don't chuckle too loudly.....

p.s. Powerglide('63) vacuum port came directly off of the carburetor front port, using a hard pipe and flare fitting to a hose Tee for the vacuum advance.
Not sure about '62.

According to the recently updated 61-62 manual, the 300 HP with manual transmission and PCV valve has a brass extension in the rear of the carb base into which a brass elbow is screwed in. The PCV valve is threaded into the elbow. There is also a photo of the installation.
